The outcome is a feeling of wellness that quenches your soul. 30 to 45 minutes drive from Oryzaland to any direction will bring you to exceptional landscapes.
North – The enchanting Kulukumalai with panoramic views you could rarely experience elsewhere.
South – Sooryanelley. One of the special places in India where small to medium scale farmers own 1 acre to 10 acres of farmland. Here you see a joint effort by all members of the family to produce agricultural products.
East – Cardamom Hills with townships in the valleys having centres for curing and trading of cardamom.
West – Kanan Devan Hills, Munnar. One of the most popular tourism landmarks in the world. This is the reason why Kerala is recommended by the National Geographic Magazine as one among the ’50 must see and experience places on the planet.’ Tea is planted at over 32 countries. The Kanan Devan Hills is the most spectacular out of all these tea plantations. Why? It’s outstanding landscape and the unique integrated planting practices.
PADDY FIELDS: Down below, in the valley are paddy fields that again adds yet another uniqueness to this area. These paddy fields are perhaps the rarest at this very high altitude. Guests have a definite advantage, because they get to see and experience a variety, such as tea plantations, cardamom plantations and paddy fields. Bison valley village is one of the oldest migrant villages of the High Ranges. It depicts a different culture and has a totally different story to tell compared to Munnar’s colonial plantation culture. On a broader picture, the fact is that a guest gets to enjoy all these special places if he or she spent a couple of days at Oryzaland.
DOLMENS: Just to the right of the property, a guest can take a 15 minutes stroll and find Dolmens on a large area of rocky terrain which are special to this area. These dolmens are of great historic value; the remnants of an ancient tribe, which stand as monuments.
